I attended a GLBT-themed party at a science fiction convention recently. There was a woman there who was lamenting her inability to find domme women who are willing to play with her.
What she knew about me: I attended the party with a man. I said I was a bi domme and own a flogger.
I doubt I'd get married even if same-sex marriage was legal, but that's a big part of the problem. Getting married in one of those states that doesn't allow same-sex marriage feels like joining a country club that doesn't allow African-Americans or Jews.
Circlet's reopened submissions! Now I need to write something!
I went to Wiscon last weekend, and met Cecilia Tan and got Lyda Morehouse to sign my copy of Periphery: Erotic Lesbian Futures. Lyda looked dashing in her vest and tie (insert little femmey swoon here), and I still want to sell something to Cecilia Tan someday. In fact, I wrote Rooted with her in mind (Can you tell?). Anyway, both highly awesome events.
I'm only partway through Periphery, but I'm really enjoying it so far. I'd read faster if I weren't working so much. Sigh.
I've been rediscovering my love of 80s retro, and part of that is Annie Lennox and Eurythmics. Oh, I had a terrible crush on Annie Lennox. I found her equally hot doing her various female personas and in boydrag (her boydrag in "Who's That Girl" was particularly convincing--in fact, I love the "Who's That Girl" video because it's so much fun to play "Spot Annie"). I also liked that there seemed to be some reference to kink in a lot of their videos--a riding crop here, a cane there, full leathers there...
Judging by recent photos, Annie is still hot. Yum.
I saw the galley for "Rooted." I'm so excited! I can't wait for y'all to see it!
Is it tomorrow yet?
